Did you guys know that the 2013 Grammy winner for best electronic album and the runner up were both actually analog recordings? Daft Punk's Random Access Memories and Pretty Lights' A Color Map Of The Sun.
The way my grandfather described analog on vinyl is unforgettable for me. The sound waves in the air are collapsed into the vinyl grooves and then released from those same grooves exactly as captured as if you were there when the original recording took place. But that's assuming you have a top notch playback system from end to end. Like warm tube amps and all that good stuff.
Digital is discretely segmented slices of sound information. Analog is an uniterrupted continuum of sound frequencies, full spectrum, no shortcuts. It's warm and welcoming!
