Freeze half, when you get home.

I do the same with their mushrooms. I love mushrooms but I can’t eat them fast enough. I slice them, portion them, and then freeze them raw. It’s perfect for when I cook with them, they get lots of moisture to get them steamed with lid over top. No weird textures either!
