I have been through this process and it has been spread over several years starting with just transport help under the old CHSP program. As my health declined I was re-assessed and given cleaning and shopping help. To both I contributed a very reasonable amount.
A year ago I was re-assessed for the new scheme of packages and approved but it has rtaken about a year to be granted.
I have to stress, I was already in the system by being in CHSP so to come to this point has taken about 4 years, but now when my needs are high I am being well provided for and the contributions, assessed on my income are fair.
For those in #ACT I highly recommend that you get advice and help from #ADACAS both to start this process and to guide you tbrough it. They have been outstandingly kind and helpful as it is a very laborious process.
Both choosing a provider and the ensuing interviews and paperwork is very confronting, while necessary to protect interests of all concerned. Again #ADACAS were invaluable.
