Those spikes were shortly after transition into the next stage of education - Year 1, KS2/Juniors, secondary. That can't be a coincidence, surely?

What's going on there is probably a complex mix of fresh eyes seeing what's happening, reduced tolerance of acting out, and increased pressure on the child to perform and conform. Transitions to the next level of schooling will likely both exacerbate and highlight existing problems.
