Is there any legitimacy to the argument that Israel wants to annex Gaza and build it’s own alternative to the Suez Canal, The Ben Gurion Canal, through the Gaza Strip? This would bring enormous revenue to Israel and undermine Egyptian/Arab leverage globally.
