As a gentle correction, most of what is called technological change is simply automating and improving precision. I recall counting drips per minute, then drip counters came in, now stepping pumps do the same task. Makes life easier, but no great change in outcome or care.
However, Coombs test and Anti D injection, replaced rhesus disease, exchange transfusions, dramatically improved outcomes, reduced cost & time.
Real technology change, changes things, automation doesn't but costs!
