No, I don't think that. I do think nostr gets a lot of value and credit from enabling people to send value to each other. That's a compelling and attractive use case. Zaps are cool and seems like they played a role in attracting a solid user base here.

I also think that user base has an obvious ceiling and that there are plenty of users out there who would be interested in it if it wasn't so tunnel vision focused on niche Bitcoin maxi features.

The protocol is a viable alternative to Twitter. But if you continue to keep the focus so narrow on maxi dogma, then it's not going to reach its potential.
