after watching Accel World, I found SAO extremely lackluster. Barring a handful of exceptions, I'm not a fan of these shows which revolve around games and consider them a type of isekai, a genre of which there is an unfortunate glut in the past 15 years. (Why can't these writers just write a fantasy?!) I'll take your recommendation and check it out, though.
