Switched from gmail and gdrive to Proton Mail (npub1mea…qane) this year, never looking back.
Lots of good stuff to say, but for me the core reason is to opt out of the panopticon and pay for a solid service that has values rooted in privacy.
One particular benefit is the aliases, where you can have separate addresses for separate usecases.
