See, this is where the whole "generational cohort" thing loses me. For thousands of years, each successive generation were mostly conservative, wanting to maintain what they fathers and forefathers had built, the society that kept them alive, the traditions that gave meaning to life. It is only during the 20th century that we saw such an atomization, such narcissism, and each generation defined more by the consumerist product offerings like movies music and toys than anything traditional. I think, honestly, it's time to break from the "generational cohort" concept and just define things as healthy or unhealthy. No one can tell me that drawing personal identity from corporate products is any kind of healthy.
