I could see that. I don't remember the context, but I remember hearing a story of some product being sold for cheap and it not selling until the price was raised because that affected some perceived value of it.
I just don't remember if I was listening to my boss explain this about merchandise we once had or if it was someone trying to sell some software online.
Value for value seems to make more sense in the content creator space where people are building up fans and parasocial relationships.
