I know I'm late, but only recently I read https://gitea-open-letter.coding.social/ and today I finally migrated my gitea instance at gitlab.mister-muffin.de (the subdomain name tells you where I'm coming from) to #Forgejo. Luckily my gitea installation was still at v1.21 and thus migrating from gitea to forgejo was as simple as switching out the gitea binary for the forgejo binary. It was literally only that.
