After reading the article I do not fooled at all: Apparently the moon really was there into this arc. All that was done was clever usage of camera features to strengthen the effect.
Well, and having blood moons that appeared giant to the naked eye, but tiny on camera I'd even assume that this photo montage just reproduces what the naked eye would see.
