I had a neighbor as a kid who had a growth abnormality. Both her parents were tall; she barely grew at all. But they were hippies who didn't believe in modern medicine. Or shoes. Or teaching their kids to read.
She's now a very short adult and this could have been helped had she got the needed growth hormone as a kid.
