Lt. Col. Ralph Kauzlarich suggested to Pat Tillman’s mother that her family's unhappiness with investigations into his friendly-fire death stemmed from their lack of Christian faith. He told The Atlantic that because the family were atheists, they could not accept that Pat was "now he is no more — that is pretty hard to get your head around that," arguing that without faith, they saw his death as meaningless, characterizing it as "[y]ou are worm dirt"
