What’s insane to me is the cognitive dissonance here: “Landauer’s original insight was that informational distinctions possess thermodynamic consequences.”
You realize that there serious thermodynamic consequences especially since we cannot erase data on Bitcoin without compromising it, yet you are literally an apologist for spam and non monetary use cases. That is throughly against what Satoshi intended with Bitcoin. He was anti- spam, like any rational developer is. He even incorporated filters to the mempool and wrote extensively about it in the forms and whitepaper. He shut down bitdns and wanted a separate chain so that bitcoin could scale and nodes wouldn’t be burden with extra data storage. He worked extensively to keep Bitcoin strictly a peer to peer electronic cash network. Nothing else. This is literally the same debate that forced out Vitalik and created eth.
Yet here you are constantly justifying using Bitcoin as something other than money, appealing to complexity and ignoring the fact that nodes are the mechanism which secure the network in the first place. Even worse is that you are pretending that it is non existent and somehow “undefinable” when the evidence is right there for anyone to see.
You said it yourself: “Protocol change is the Landauer Attack.”
EXACTLY. Core changed the protocol without consensus and opened op return. They opened the floodgates for spam and filled the chain with 47% non monetary transactions. How much higher does that need to be until it’s no longer fucking bitcoin? 70% 99%?
Core is the landauer attack.
The level of cognitive dissonance here is unfathomable…
Complete ignorance…. Hopefully it’s just because you have somehow gotten this far without running a node yourself, because if not, that would imply you are a fraud or scammer (because you are literally defending them).
