Think of all the energy you use, day in, day out, week, in, week out, year in, year out, to mine cash from your job. Multiply it by the billions of working age people across the planet. Then think of all that human energy and initiative and life's work being stolen by governments across the world in the form of taxes and inflation to line their own pockets and piss up against a wall on war, death, pet projects and union mates of their choosing. All your life's energy, indeed all of human energy, taken... like that 🫰
And your argument is that mining bitcoin, that can't be inflated or stolen, that separates money from state, that can't be frozen by your bank, that can be sent to family, friends and businesses across the world, peer-to-peer with no middlemen, that's incorruptible, that's harder money and more practical than gold ever was, that allows the unbanked to participate in society, that stabilises energy grids, monetizes stranded energy and lowers energy costs, THAT'S the system that's a waste of energy!
