Xitter's biggest advantage over the fedi is that it has a consistent UX. That UX is dogshit, but so is the fedi's. Having different front ends, back ends, and confusing compatibility issues between all the front ends and back ends is probably the main issue holding the fedi back from turning Melon Husk's 40B of xitter stonks into toilet paper. I'm not a coder, I don't want to code, I don't even want to run Linux (though I'll probably have to soon).
