After getting lots of practice time in on the beach last week I’ve added this to my cargos along with a pouch of 5-6 three oz rocks for my hiking kit. It’s pretty handy being able to quickly load and sling a rock at 80-90 mph. Can’t wait to try taking a grouse or something with it. I was knocking full thickness bark off trees with some of my shots. Yes there’s a learning curve, but it’s a cool zen like thing to just focus on the target rather than the mechanics of the throw. Just looking intently at what you want to hit and letting it rip after a single rotation.

I can see an application for quickly messing up footing, face shields, riot shields, windshields and rifle optics if egg sized paintball projectiles filled with mineral oil and black paint could be produced in quantity. In the hands of 10-15 people behind the main line of a street conflict, it would be pretty effective. I saw a testimonial vid from a British officer involved in The Troubles in Northern Ireland in the 80’s and 90’s who said simple water balloons with this mixture seriously messed with riot responses.
