um. not to yuck anyone's yum, and i do appreciate that CRTs are increasingly hard to find, and more importantly, that even running a Pi 5's VideoCore flat out and overclocked will come *nowhere near* the power consumption of a CRT...
but honestly, i don't get the appeal of emulating the worst visual aspects of CRTs - badly (remember, back then we all used to use inch-wide margins on our CRTs precisely *because* of the curvature at the edges!) - when LCDs are just *better*. in almost every respect - and the respects in which they aren't won't be solved by emulating a CRT with them
