Remember that we are fucking monkeys. Our closest evolutionary cousins/sibs are chimps, bonobos, and gorillas.
That which is going right/smooth doesn't require attention and thus, isn't salient. That which is going wrong requires a lot of attention. This is an evolved grassland/forest survival "program" we run because it's part of our species BIOS.
But we run it poorly. And it's fucking hard to get past it. If actual wisdom and flexibility were easy, we'd all be Socrates. (sad smile)
