#BookReview for "Pre-Suasion: Channeling Attention for Change" by Robert B. Cialdini
Mixed
I love fascinating psychological tidbits like this.
Many simple things seem to have an outsized effect. I'm dubious, thinking of the "Nudge" controversy and how Kahneman has criticized priming research for failing to replicate.
Basic concept: lay groundwork before making your ask, and ask at the right time.
Overall it's enjoyable and interesting, but many examples may not be accurate.
