I don’t know that I agree with the first part. I think that the people who successfully fought off the Southwest Corridor project in Boston in the 60s and 70s would most likely be housing justice activists today, focused on things like rent control, renters’ rights, affordable housing minimums, and public housing. There is overlap with some YIMBY factions to be sure, but that is not how they would define themselves.
