It also ignores the fact that these are human beings and that during their time in their new country they will make connections, establish relationships, and (most) will contribute to the society in which they now live as they attempt to rebuild their lives and attain some sort of 'normal' life free of fear and persecution. To rip that away after what they have already endured is inhuman.
