My guess is that he was very used to doing things "the old way" and then suddenly he was forced to use venvs and suddenly everything had to be relearned. All the tutorials for the Pi used to just say "install xyz and go". Now one has to mess with venvs because someone arbitrarily decided not to support the old way. Just a guess.
