This week’s film is An Autumn Afternoon (1962) by Yasujirô Ozu!
This is Ozu’s final film complete a year before his untimely death on his 60th birthday in 1963. The film is poetic meditation on the loneliness of ageing; sad, beautiful, and funny in parts, it’s classic Ozu and one of his best.
