I agree that capitalism is bad, but that doesn’t imply that everyone who defends capitalism is bad faith. People can be mistaken and succumb to propaganda. There are entire disciplines of academic study dedicated to producing propaganda in defense of it.
Competition between firms doesn’t necessitate competition between people. Competition between projects is inherent to scarcity. If we use a resource for project Y, we won’t have enough for project Z
