i love perplexity, but it has an additional failure mode over other LLMs — it’ll base answers on bogus sources. e.g. ask about dealing with abusive situations and it’ll cite reddit
it plainly states its sources, which is great, but it takes restraint to not blindly trust the output. so you still actually have to learn how to use it properly
it’s still insanely useful. sometimes i brain dump into an LLM and it gives me the words i’m looking for to do a proper search
