I think this is where you and I have a fundamental difference.
You believe God can only be known rightly through Scripture.
The truth is God can be interacted with personally and intimately, face to face, Spirit to spirit, person to person. This doesn't remove the need for Scripture in our lives.
This is a major distinction.
