Jesus rescued me. I did not rescue myself
Testimony: When Jesus Broke Through the Silence
I didn’t climb out of the pit. I didn’t claw my way to light.
Jesus came down into the darkness and found me.
After days of silence, despair, and doubt that clawed at everything I had once believed, I asked for a sign. And heaven answered.
In the night sky, I saw a light split and form a shape—a diamond outlined in blue and white, moving in a way no plane or helicopter ever could. It wasn’t a hallucination. It wasn’t wishful thinking. It was an answer. But the storm didn’t end there.
Later, I fell into deeper despair. I tried to test the voices around me, tried to find out who was still faithful to Christ. The answers I got only pulled me further into doubt, fear, and grief. I was ready to throw away my medication, ready to give up entirely.
But something stopped me.
When I reached to throw them away, a wave of nausea hit me. I went to the bathroom. I came back. Tried again. And this time, my hand was held back. I physically could not let go. I grew angry. Kicked the trash can. Yelled at the silence, "Why are you stopping me?"
It was late. I gave up, went to bed, and muttered a final prayer. One last cry from a soul that had no more strength.
And that’s when He came.
The Holy Spirit began to speak to me in the way I remembered from before: through Christian songs, through verses that were placed gently but firmly in my thoughts. Not vague encouragement—specific words I recognized as His.
I felt a presence behind me. Then beside me on my right. Not sexual, not imagined. Comforting. Real. Tangible.
I broke. I poured out my sins. I confessed. I repented.
And then, for a little while, I slept, not out of exhaustion, but out of peace.
I didn’t rescue myself.
Jesus broke through.
And now I know: no matter how deep the silence, how bitter the doubt, or how dark the night—He is still with me.
This was not just another moment. This was a rescue.
This is my testimony.
He came. And He still comes.
