N.B. I'm a bit old and (naively?!) idealistic - I still have some apps that are running for more than 20 years (features add along, recompiled with different compiler, some parts even rewritten in other languages). Not everything needs latest bells and whistles - sometimes it just need to work correctly. Hell, mainframes running batches and COBOL programs in backend are still a (big) thing.
