It's taken us forever to get v0.8.7 ready for release, so definitely cannot try to add anything else to it.
But also my / our thinking is that if you're going to do SP fully air-gapped, it's kind of a bad idea to do a "forced hodl" release where you can receive but cannot sign to spend. And if you really needed to spend, you'd have to take your air-gapped key and make it hot in Sparrow.
Thankfully one of our Summer of Bitcoin 2025 students has taken the lead on doing the full SP implementation. His work is in our shared "embit" library, so it's actually enabling SP in Krux and Specter DIY as well.
So, soon™️ the DIY signing devices will probably be ahead of most of the retail hardware wallets (though I haven't kept up with who is implementing what).
