The reason for that is it can heal you so quick the skin can form over with infection inside and causing an abscess which of course is not what you want. This mostly applies to puncture wounds. You can use plantain instead for open wounds as it's not to potent but does the same thing or wait a few days/ use it diligently. That's why it's also good to add some calendula flowers too to help fight infection.

There have been a few times I have been applying to others or elsewhere not realising I got a splinter healed over. Try and avoid that too unless you want to get some practice in with a scalpel.😁
