Almost everyone is writing exclusively to a few big relays. Mostly lol, band, and the big app relays (damus, snort, primal).
Relays are heavy concentrated. Broadcasters make it worse because they mean you don't actually have to be on the relay and read from it, so everyone stays concentrated.
If you turn them off, you only see higher-quality notes, which is an interesting experience.
