Just saying: I run firefox with extensions and watch/ listen to YouTube mostly without a hitch, always without ads.
Sometimes when relying on data (so, driving) i do have to switch to on the audio only extension. And when off wifi i can't easily share a video via text.
I put YouTube in the background and listen to whatever i want, while doing what i do.
