I think one difference is from North America is that here there’s no such thing as a “credit score” number that lenders can point to, every lender has to make an individual assessment of your creditworthiness based on their own criteria.

While this slows down anything related to credit, it also means you’re not beholden to the algos of one of 3 major companies and have more diversity of credit options.
