JWICS is the computer network the US government uses to handle top secret and sensitive compartmented information.

“Top Secret” signifies information “the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause 'exceptionally grave damage' to the National Security.” “Sensitive compartmented information” or SCI is a protocol for restricting access to information to those with a specific need-to-know. This is, according to the US government, really important information that must be carefully protected.

That’s why access to JWICS is typically restricted to a sensitive compartmented information facility, or SCIF. A SCIF is set up to protect that information from unauthorized access, observation, electronic monitoring, etc etc etc. *Really carefully protected secrets*. No cameras, no removable storage devices, no smart devices that can communicate electronically, etc.
