The coffee cups used on Voyager are vintage 1970s Carlo Giannini espresso cups which look beautiful. Tragically they are only two ounces — perfect for espresso, but not ideal for me. I prefer a cortado, more of a 4oz drink.
Clearly, the thing to do is create a 3D model of the complicated base and print it at around double scale with space to fit neatly around a regular ~4oz stainless steel cup.
It wouldn't be a perfect replica, but it would have an essence of Voyager. That mild aroma of space coffee. A little stellar twinkle in the morning routine. #StarTrek #Voyager
