06/04/23 Nebbiolo da Barolo Preda
Working with the disc under the vines - as the owners of the plot want me to do so.
This is especially annoying as my path is heading towards no till and I’m seeing a perceivable amount of visible fungal hyphae for the first time since I started cultivating this vineyard. They are not a fan of moved soil though.
And especially as there will probably be another tough year - with hardly any rain during winter - a healthy soil microbiology is needed.
The owner’s position is understandable of course. Best practice in the region includes working the soil frequently.
Nevertheless it’s….

By the way, in the pictures you can see “soil” with poor level of organic matter and bad structure.
