#today In the evenings this time of year I sit in back next to my favorite apple tree and watch the shadow of my hill climb up the other side of the valley (I'm facing NE here). Above, I can hear the rumble of the commercial flights at 20 or 25K feet just 10 or 15 minutes out of New York as they start their trips to London, Paris, Rome, etc. and I think how lucky I am to be able to sit here not going anywhere and looking at my veg. patch and little orchard.
