Nothing israel does is 'spur of the moment'.....call me paranoid or a conspiracy theorist, even anti semitic, I don't care, really, but I suspect that even the horrific attack by Hamas on Oct 7 2023 was pre-planned to allow israel to decimate Gaza once and for all.
I've read observers at israeli observation posts along the border with Gaza, reporting to their seniors of unusual activity and being ignored, weeks prior to Oct 7.
