Before I answer fully, who do you believe will be “writing the checks”?

It’s inevitable because advances in technology have historically proven to multiply and compound production per hour what humans can achieve alone. With the advances in AI humans will be able to produce more with less and this less includes a massive decrease in the amount of human labor necessary. Essentially, we live in a time of great abundance and surplus, if guided in a beneficial way, not paywalling everything.

Now workers displaced with find other ways to contribute but AI is something that doesn’t really have a comparison historically, so I withhold assumptions until a pattern emerges. That being said, if there is NO Universal Basic Income, who and how will these goods and services be bought? If we agree that UBI is unnecessary, that goods and services will be distributed according to need, well my friend…that is Lenin’s idea of socialism called communism.
