I was told that about street food vendors in Tel Aviv, and my extreme cringe over it marked me as worth teasing about it.
The result is an absolute aversion to use of animal stories for social control: I will walk away from any conversation where that occurs, because I have learned that it is not in good faith (about facts or events).
