I consider myself a fairly expert knitter. When a knitting friend showed up wearing an amazing scarf with lace work, I thought I might try to make one, too. It's this pattern: https://purlbumps.wordpress.com/2015/04/14/stone-croft-shawl/

I had just the yarn in my stash - a purple sport weight wool blend that would show the stitches well.

This is my 4th attempt and I haven't even gotten into the body of the scarf. 😭

1st attempt - lost a stitch somewhere & couldn't fix it. Couldn't even frog it. Sigh.
