I think all the photo-recognition plant apps are over-trained on flower features & not on leaves & other parts of the plant, because that's what the photos in sales catalogues & such show. But the flowers are also the part that tends to be modified the most in cultivated varieties of flowers, while leaves & seeds & such tell you more about the genus & family!
