When I was working I had this policy that women shouldn't be software engineers but if we were stuck with them they might as well be productive.
So this chinese chick in Canada nobody would help her get started so I sat down with her and taught her basic linux skills and how to have a little edge in her dev etc.
Was pretty fun all the girls in the office wanted to know me after that. The mgr was an Indian socialist w/ a british accent who hated the US so it also got her dictatorial nazi-like approval.
Was a fun year the GREAT thing was that I knew I could leave at any time. And I did.
