A friend’s family was evicted from their home in Oregon, put up in housing & given a “choice” to work on local farms or go to a camp. They worked the farm. An uncle enlisted & served as a translator in the Philippines. A neighbor maintained their house & they were able to move back after the war ended. His mom was in school in Japan when war started. He now does tours of the Amache camp in Colorado.
