I actually spoke to a person who will be impacted by the changes the other day, obviously they aren't impressed

The reason they have so much in super is they were brought up to believe the government won't support you or your family so it's important to do so for yourself and to also to set their kids up as well as possible

Reasonable in some ways

My response was that's not what super is for, it was designed to fund your retirement not your kids inheritance

I still don't think it's a good policy or well designed but if we want major economic and tax reform getting it through is an important test

Super should be taken back to doing what it was designed to do i.e. funding retirement, not for minimising tax, running businesses and inheritance

It would be cleaner to just stop, or at least limit, those things by capping how much you can have in super e.g. $5 million
