On the other hand — I think Accept-Language header is used for fingerprinting, so my Firefox likely sends "the default" en-US 😅
And as much I hate geoIP being used for… anything really, I have to admit: our older relatives probably appreciate that websites speak their mother tongue even in private mode.
Audodetecting language based on IP-address is minor annoyance I can live with, what makes me boil is this being used for security: "You are attempting to log in from a different city — you must have been hacked!" As we all know, no one but evil hackers uses VPN. They have to at least give users the option to disable this shit — yet neither Apple, nor Microsoft, nor, I believe, Google allow it.
