I was out of the house last Thursday doing volunteer work and running errands. So BunDad decided to take the top of our (gas) kitchen stove off and give it a good scrubbing. (It did need it!). Unfortunately, the aluminum screws which secured things had lost all integrity. But BunDad carried on, planning to get new screws and then put everything back together.
Of course, you cannot buy the little replacement pieces that you need, only kits. And these kits (one for each of the four burners) cost as much as a new stove. Our stove was past its predicted life expectancy, and recent research has suggested that it is better to have an electric stove than a gas stove, due to indoor air quality concerns and climate change. So, off we go….
